Privacy Policy

Rally-Tally ("the App") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

1. Information We Collect

  • UniqueDeviceID: When you install the App, a random unique DeviceID is generated for your phone, and stored within the app. When you check-in this ID is stored in our database. When you check out, it is deleted. This is how we count total check ins. It cannot identify you personally. We cannot even tell what brand of phone you are using.
  • Event Website (Optional): If you add an event to the app, you may provide the website users can use to get more information. This is optional. This will be visible on the app and website. Feel free to leave this blank.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect your name, gender, phone number, physical address, or any other personal identifiers. We do not collect any information about your phone, such as brand, model, specific identifiers, location, or anything else.
  • We do not create user accounts, and no logins or passwords are required to use the app.

3. How We Use Information

  • UniqueDeviceID: The app allocates this ID value to your device when it is installed. It is used to prevent duplicate or unlimited check-ins for an event. This UniqueID is saved on our servers. However there is no way to determine who the device belongs to. There is also no way to tell what brand and model of device it is.
  • Location: When you first use the app, it will ask for permission to use your device location. If approved, the app will use your device location to enable accurate check-ins and to display your location on the map. No user location data is sent to our servers.
  • Event Website (optional): To allow users to gain more event information. This is optional. The website address is stored securely on our server.

Since we do not collect any data about you, we cannot/do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

Google Maps API is used to display maps and determine proximity to events. Use of Google Maps is subject to Google's own Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • UniqueDeviceIDs are stored securely in our database.
  • We take reasonable measures to protect this information but cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

The App may be used by minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your Choices

  • You can use the App without ever providing personal data.
  • Event organisers can choose not to provide a website address when adding an event.

To remove an event:

When you create and save an event, a screen will be displayed providing an editPassword. Save this. If you want to make any changes to your event, or delete it, then go to your event on the Event Details Screen, click the EDIT button, enter your password, and you can make your changes. Note: Once the event has started, no changes can be made.

Since your event password is encrypted on our server, we cannot view it. This acts as an additional layer of security for your event record. However this means we have no way of verifying you as the owner of the event. So we will not be able to edit or delete the event if you ask us to, since we do not know who you are.
